Welcome to Lohgarh Retreat

ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to unavoidable circumstances Lohgarh Camp will not be held this year.

Lohgarh is the first Sikh fort, built by Guru Hargobind Ji near Amrtisar, in the early 1600’s. From within its defenses, Guru Sahib waged battles against the Mughal forces, and their local officiates, who were bent upon annhilating the Sikhs. Lohgarh is also the name of one of the seven forts built by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, in the town of Anandpur Sahib, in the late 1600’s. Within this fort, weapons were built for defending the Sikhs against the armies of the Mughal Empire and the Hindu Hill Kingdoms. Lohgarh in the Pennsylvania foothills is one of the defenses of the Khalsa Panth, as it strives to impart the message of the Guru to a new generation of Sikhs and non-Sikhs. The battle here and now is against the armies of ignorance and hatred, and the lure of assimilation.
